How Payment Integrations Work
- Initial Setup - Authorise the platform to connect to your payment provider account using a secure authorisation link
- Customer Setup - Configure payment methods for customers (mandates for Direct Debit, card details for Stripe)
- Automatic Collection - The platform schedules and collects payments based on invoices and payment terms
- Reconciliation - Collected payments are automatically matched to invoices and customer accounts
- Status Updates - Payment success and failure notifications update automatically in the platform
Setup Requirements
Generally an initial setup step is required before these integrations can be used, to authorise the platform to access your payment provider account. This is usually performed by using a special authorisation link in the platform to the service where you can grant access, but sometimes requires you to generate an API key and provide it to the platform.
Once authorised, you can configure payment methods for individual customers and begin automated payment collection.
Common Use Cases
Recurring Monthly Invoices: Automatically collect Direct Debit payments for monthly service charges. The platform schedules payments to match invoice due dates and handles payment failures with automated retry logic.
One-Off Payments: Send customers secure payment links for card payments. Ideal for setup fees, final bills, or customers without Direct Debit mandates.
Mixed Payment Methods: Some customers pay by Direct Debit, others by card. The platform handles both payment types and provides unified reconciliation reporting.
