Campaigns
A campaign is a label that ties work together: the deals raised for a promotion, the TODOs raised alongside them, and the correspondence sent to the audience. Because everything carries the campaign, you can measure the batch afterwards rather than guessing.
What you need: the Sales or Customer Services section, the CRM Campaigns permission and the Campaigns feature. Sending correspondence also needs the Send Campaign Correspondence capability, plus the underlying permissions to add correspondence and email letters.
The campaigns list
Section titled “The campaigns list”Columns are the campaign, its owner, status, the number of deals, how many were won, the number of TODOs, the number of sends and when the last one ran.
Filter by name and by status (Active or Closed). New campaign creates one.
A campaign carries its name, owner, an optional dealer, its status and notes. A closed campaign keeps its history but cannot run new sends. A campaign scoped to one dealer only ever targets that dealer’s customers, whatever else is chosen.
The campaign page
Section titled “The campaign page”Four panels:
- Correspondence sends - each send with its type, mode, date, and counts of skipped, emailed, opened and failed, plus a Recipients button.
- Recipients - customer, account and outcome for the send you drilled into. Where some rows are outside your account access, the panel says how many are not shown.
- Deals under this campaign and Follow-up TODOs - the work batched under the label.
Running a bulk send
Section titled “Running a bulk send”New send starts a three-step wizard.
Step 1: compose and choose the audience
Section titled “Step 1: compose and choose the audience”Required: the Correspondence type, and the Send mode:
- Create and email sends straight away, subject to the queue.
- Create only (review before emailing) produces the correspondence and holds it in the Send Correspondence queue for approval.
Where the type allows composed content, a Subject and Body appear, pre-filled from the type’s own template. Edit them for this send. The content is stored once and shared by every recipient, and merge fields still fill in per customer.
Audience filters:
- Customer statuses - a checkbox grid, pre-ticked with the statuses that can receive correspondence.
- Customer groups - any of the chosen groups; leave them all clear to mean every customer.
- Dealer and Account manager.
- Exclude customers already sent this type within the last N days, defaulting to 90.
- Or paste a list of account numbers, one per line. The filters above still apply.
Choose Preview audience.
Step 2: confirm
Section titled “Step 2: confirm”Two tables:
- Will receive - untick anyone you want to leave out.
- Will not receive - excluded automatically, with the reason: Type not valid for this customer, Cannot receive correspondence email, or No marketing consent.
Important: only the first 2,000 matching customers are shown. Narrow the filters and run further sends for the rest.
Then Send now or Create now.
Step 3: results
Section titled “Step 3: results”How many rows were created and queued, and how many recipients were skipped. Where the send is large, a line tells you roughly how long it will take at your hourly marketing rate and within your send window, or explains that it will wait until next month because the monthly campaign allowance is used.
Things to know
Section titled “Things to know”- Every eligibility test is re-run at the moment of sending, not only at preview. A customer who withdrew consent between the two is not emailed.
- Composed content is email only. No PDF is produced for a composed send.
- Review-before-sending items always land in the Sales Send Correspondence queue, whichever section ran the campaign. A Customer Services operator therefore reaches that queue from their own menu.
- Progress is visible on the Email Queue.
