Display Settings
Display Settings control how the platform looks for you. They are saved against your own user account, so changing them affects nobody else, and they apply from the next page load.
Open Display Settings from the Display group on the Advanced tab of the main menu.
The Theme dropdown chooses the main interface style:
- Modern - the current interface, and the one the optional stylesheets below are designed for
- Retro - the older interface style
- CRM - the CRM workspace design applied to the whole billing backend: a slate and teal palette, its own typefaces and record forms styled to match
Choosing CRM here changes the billing backend. It is separate from the light and dark theme toggle inside the CRM workspace itself, which is set from the workspace top bar and remembered per device. See Navigating the workspace.
Optional Stylesheets
Section titled “Optional Stylesheets”Four optional stylesheets refine the Modern theme. Each is a tickbox, each is off unless you choose it, and you can combine them.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Reduce motion | Removes animated transitions, for anyone who finds movement on screen distracting or uncomfortable |
| Compact layout | Tightens spacing to fit more on screen |
| Easy Read | Larger, bolder text in a typeface designed for easier reading |
| High contrast / inverse colours | Strengthens the contrast between text and background |
These apply to the Modern theme only. Choosing them while using Retro has no effect.
Easy Read
Section titled “Easy Read”Choose Easy Read if you find the standard interface text hard to read. It is aimed at anyone reading the platform all day as much as at anyone with a visual impairment.
It enlarges and strengthens the text throughout, including in grids and on forms, so the data grows with the interface rather than staying small while everything around it grows. It darkens text, links and borders for better contrast, gives tabs, headers, form rows and inputs the extra room the larger text needs, and thickens the keyboard focus outline, which matters most for anyone working without a mouse.
The typeface is Atkinson Hyperlegible, developed by the Braille Institute specifically for readers with low vision. It is served from the platform itself, so nothing is fetched from an outside font service.
Combining the options
Section titled “Combining the options”Where two options would disagree, the order is fixed rather than depending on which you ticked first:
- Easy Read overrides Compact layout. Choosing both gives you Easy Read’s larger scale, not Compact’s smaller one.
- High contrast / inverse overrides Easy Read’s colours while keeping its larger, more readable text, so the two work together.
